Update on conference room names
I have an update regarding my post about conference rooms from a few days ago. In that post, I wrote that two brand new Seattle conference rooms named for myself and another woman at the company had been renamed due to a "no employee/former employee" policy, while two existing rooms also named for employees in London had remained despite being reported in the same thread.
Well, according to my telemetry, the London rooms have been renamed.
Consistency is restored. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure I know how this was set right. I had a conference call with a certain someone late on a Monday afternoon a few days after I resigned. It was the first they had heard of it, and they promised to do something about it. Clearly, they did.
To that individual, I thank you for doing the right thing. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to work together earlier. I have a feeling things wouldn't have gotten as painful as they did for me, and I might not have had to leave just to make it stop hurting so much.
For everyone else, know that it's still hard for me to write about this even now. I hope to someday be able to put all of this into prose so everyone can appreciate just how bad it had gotten.
To call back to that prior post, remember that individual dumb things are no big deal in isolation, but enough of them squished together will eventually wear anyone out.
I just hope nobody else ever has to learn this through experience.
