How to be evil and get away with it

Want to do something evil? Just follow these easy steps.

First, design an evil system. Maybe it does something creepy or invasive with user privacy. Keep it on the down-low.

Second, make a random comment which exposes the evil and is later discovered when someone outside your project sees the bug update. Something like "the advertisers don't want them to be able to un-publish that" would work nicely.

Third, attribute the evil situation to being swamped.

Fourth, mark it a "v2" to-do item.

Fifth, ship it as-is anyway.

That's it! You're done.
